The waiter brought some sweet and sour starters before.
Después, preparáis las maletas para el viaje a Londres.
Afterward, you get your luggage ready for your trip to London.
However, if they are followed by a noun or an infinitive, you should say

When you are talking about doing something before or after another activity, use
Decidimos hablar antes de terminar la cena.
We decided to talk before finishing dinner.
Me llamaron antes de salir de casa. Las noticias me dejaron un gusto amargo.
They called me before leaving home. The news left me with a bitter taste.
Patricia aprendió a escribir antes de ir al colegio.
Patricia learned to write before going to school.
Después de comprar estos zapatos, quise probarme algunos más.
After buying these shoes, I wanted to try on some more.
El quiosco está delante de la estación de autobuses.
The kiosk is in front of the bus station.
