En – physical space
La toalla está en el coche.
The towel is in the car.
María Pilar está en el dentista porque tenía dolor de muelas.
María Pilar is at the dentist’s office because of a toothache.
El museo de arte contemporáneo está en el centro de Monterrey.
The contemporary art museum is in downtown Monterrey.

Aquí hace buen tiempo en verano y en invierno.
Here the weather is nice in summer and in winter.

Nunca voy a ninguna parte en taxi, es demasiado caro.
I never go anywhere by taxi, it’s too expensive.
Cada dos semanas viajo de Bilbao a Bruselas en avión.
Every two weeks I travel from Bilbao to Brussels by plane.
Moverse en moto por la ciudad es demasiado peligroso, hay demasiado tráfico.
Riding around the city by motorcycle is too dangerous, there’s too much traffic.
En vs A
There are two exceptions: you say
Mañana iremos a trabajar a pie para hacer ejercicio.
Tomorrow we will go to work on foot to do some exercise.

With this traffic, it is faster go on foot than by car.
